Fun Bowl Henry County League Bowling: Weeks 1–8 Highlights

Fun Bowl Henry County league bowlers are off to a huge start with 19 perfect 300 games and six 800 series through the first eight weeks.

League season is well underway at Fun Bowl Henry County, and through the first eight weeks, our bowlers have given us plenty to talk about.

From perfect games to 800 series, the scores have been coming from leagues throughout the week. Through Week 8, Henry County bowlers have already combined for 19 300 games and six 800+ series.

And the scores seem to be getting bigger as the season goes on.

Six 800 Series in Eight Weeks

Breaking 800 is always an accomplishment, and we’ve already seen it happen six times this season.

Alejandro Lawson currently owns the season-high series with an 834, rolled in Week 8 with games of 279, 276 and 279.

The 800 club through the first eight weeks:

  • Alejandro Lawson — 834
  • Clay Jones — 825
  • Marc Johnson — 819
  • Duane Jones — 815
  • Raymar Asberry — 805
  • Duane Jones — 816

Duane has the distinction of appearing on that list twice, while Week 8 became the first week this season to produce two 800 series, with Lawson’s 834 and Asberry’s 805.

19 Perfect Games and Counting

The 300s have been coming fast, too.

The season started strong in Week 1 with perfect games from Duane Jones and Jalen Hagan, including the first 300 of Jalen’s career.

Week 2 followed with three more from Marc Johnson, Raymar Asberry and Jay Lane.

Then came Jalen Hagan and Harold Caldwell in Week 3 before Week 4 produced the biggest perfect-game week of the season so far: Samuel Hill, Tony Connell, Alex Johnston and Sheldon Frye all rolled 300.

The streak kept going with Alph Dean in Week 5 and Brevin Jamison in Week 6.

Week 7 added three more from Raymar Asberry, Duane Jones and Alejandro Lawson.

And Week 8 brought another three: Marc Johnson, Austin Chennault and Phillip Mondy.

That puts the count at an impressive 19 perfect games through just eight weeks of league bowling.

The Top Series Each Week

The consistency of the scoring might be even more impressive when you look at the leading series week by week.

Week 1 — Duane Jones, 816 Week 2 — Clay Jones, 825 Week 3 — Alph Dean, 777 Week 4 — Sheldon Frye, 796 Week 5 — Duane Jones, 815 Week 6 — Marc Johnson, 819 Week 7 — Charles Bradley, 791 Week 8 — Alejandro Lawson, 834

Five of the first eight weekly leaders have reached 800, with Lawson’s 834 setting the mark everyone is chasing heading into the next stretch of the season.

Plenty of Big Scores Beyond 800

The 800s and 300s grab the headlines, but they don’t tell the whole story.

We’ve seen a long list of 750+ performances from bowlers including Charles Bradley, Sheldon Frye, Rusty Pope, Andrew Green, Derrick Jones, Brevin Jamison, Duane Jones, Michael Johnson, Jalen Hagan, Dwayne Chaney and many others.

Week 8 alone included five additional 750+ series behind the two 800s, led by Michael Johnson’s 799 and Clay Jones’ 794.

Dalton James also fired a 289 game in Week 8, while Carl Stephens and Heather Dumas each posted 279 games.

Eight Weeks Down. A Lot of Bowling Left.

We’re only eight weeks into the season, which makes these numbers even more impressive.

19 perfect games. Six 800 series. An 834 season high.

Congratulations to everyone who has made the highlight list so far — and to all of our league bowlers who make Fun Bowl Henry County their bowling home each week.

We’ll keep tracking the big games and series as the season continues.

Great bowling. Everyone. Every week.
