Now, after almost 40 years, a new chapter is beginning.

Honoring the Past

When Fun Bowl Fayette County opened in 1987, the bowling industry was facing major challenges. During the AMF strike of the late 1980s, finding equipment wasn’t easy. To make sure the center could open and continue serving the community, our family worked tirelessly to locate pinsetters from wherever they could find them.

Some of the machines came from Japan. Others were sourced from different parts of the United States. Those machines were installed with one goal in mind: creating a place where families, friends, and league bowlers could come together and enjoy the sport of bowling.

And they delivered. For decades, those pinsetters have worked behind the scenes setting countless pins, surviving millions of frames, and helping create memories for generations of bowlers here in Fayette County, but even great machines don’t last forever.

Why We’re Making the Change

As the equipment has aged, keeping the machines running has become increasingly difficult. Parts are harder to find, repairs take longer, and maintaining equipment that is approaching 70 years old in design has become a growing challenge across the bowling industry.
